William Dalglish (1860-1909)
A native of Glasgow, William Dalglish joined the Dundas Street life class, and then went on to study under Robert Greenlees at Glasgow School of Art in Sauchiehall Street where he took first prize for watercolour painting in the Vere Foster National Competition. He began to exhibit pictures in the Edinburgh and Glasgow exhibitions. Dalglish lived in quiet places where he captured the charm of the old-world harbour and shore. He exhibited at most of the galleries in the United Kingdom, including those of the Royal Academy and the Royal Institute.
