Francis Sydney Muschamp (1851-1929)
Born in Hull, Francis Sydney Muschamp moved to London in 1865. Sydney Muschamp was greatly influenced by the neo-classical movement and liked to paint scenes of the past, historical, mythology and of the classics. He exhibited his works between 1870-1903 at many of the major galleries including the Royal Academy and Suffolk Street, and regionally at the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Manchester City Gallery and Royal Hibernian Academy.
