Flora MacDonald Reid (1879-1938)
Flora MacDonald Reid was of Scottish parentage but born in London. She was taught by her much older brother, the well known Scottish artist John Robertson Reid (1851-1926), as well as at Edinburgh School of Art. Well exhibited at the Glasgow Institute, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Academy (80). Figure and landscape artist of the highest quality, she began exhibiting at the Royal Academy at just 16. Widely held in public collections including: the National Galleries Scotland, Manchester, Paisley, Leeds, Bristol, Bristol & Birmingham museums; The Fleming Collection and; the Laing Art Gallery.
