This painting has two hulks in the background and is on the estuary at Dartmouth. A very good picture which was bought from a famous dealer in Eastbourne about twenty years ago, before being sold to us by the present owner who is downsizing. A substantial example and nicely framed. Thornley used various names and we recently heard rumoured that the artist changed his name and residence just ahead of his creditors.
