First of a pair of Thornley oil on panels, the other 'Moonlit Harbour'. Sun rays streak out from behind the cloud as boats tend the hulk as dawn breaks. At the time of painting the hulks were most likely being used as warehouses rather than the dreaded 'hell on water' prison hulks. Signed, lower right,
