William Purser (c.1790-1852)
William Purser was an English artist and architect. Between 1817-20 he travelled around Italy and Greece with the architect John Sanders, acting as draughtsman, and during the 1820s and 1830s he travelled in Turkey. Some of his Turkish watercolours are held in the Victoria & Albert Museum collection. Purser exhibited 22 works (landscapes and architectural subjects) at the Royal Academy between 1805 and 1834.
