A tall shepherd or drover, his collie and flock of (superbly painted) Scottish Blackface stop for a rest by the shore. Lovely painting: mist rising off a languid sea suggesting early summer, the sheep being rounded up for shearing, and a shepherd just enjoying the moment. Interesting to note he's dressed, as common then, in a jacket and tie. Signed and dated, 1929, lower right.
