One of a pair of William Manners watercolour and gouaches fresh to the market from a long-held private collection. Not his usual landscape but a very atmospheric, perhaps Atkinson Grimshaw influenced, moonlit street after rain. Signed, lower left and annotated verso, 'Shrewsbury Street scene.'
