We've seen this young woman before, painted a year earlier by Hankey (see our archives, 'A fair student') and again he has painted her in a garden and with her looking self-effacing. Signed, lower left and dated 1900 with William Rodman (Belfast) and Rudolf Ackermann (Regent St.) labels.
