William Lakin Turner is one of our favourite artists and this is a classic view of the Cumbrian village of Grange, Borrowdale. A summer's day in the English Lake District, flag irises in flower, a woman looks on as a man fishes where the twin arms of the River Derwent rejoin having flowed under the double-arched Grange bridge. A good sized painting for this artist, signed lower left.
