We are sure a mountaineer or local could easily identify this location but, as yet, we have been unable to glean more information than Turner left us inscribed on the back - Borrowdale, Cumberland. The Lake District was favourite location for William Lakin Turner and here he paints in summer time; a few cattle graze the upland grasses and beyond sunlight breaks though cloud and lights parts of the impressive fell. Signed and dated,1906, lower left.
