William Henry Williamson (1820-1883)
Williamson was a gifted, London painter of coastal scenes, particularly of the south coast. He exhibited at Suffolk Street, the British Institute and the Royal Academy from 1853-75. One of the titles at the RA was 'Off the Coast of Kent'. Small examples of his work are often seen at auction and which usually sell for a few hundred pounds, occasionally he painted much more substantial marine scenes.
