Lovely impressionist painting by the renowned figure and portrait painter Walter Ernest Webster. A pretty young woman seated on a chaise longue plays a small-bodied or parlour guitar. Her instructor, or possibly suitor, dressed in a fine red jacket looks on, listening intently. Signed, lower left.

Please note: this painting has a choice of TWO FRAMES now and the canvas has also been relined. The first row of 'Thumbnail' illustration shows the picture in it's original Victorian frame and the second row in its much lighter, contemporary frame, perhaps more suitable for a more modern environment. Hence we are giving the painting a 'New' place on the website at a new price too!
