Peasants load their cart with seaweed in this pleasant 19th century painting. It is probably October, the first autumn storms have deposited seaweed on shore which is being collected to fertilise fields. Fabulous and realistic colouration of the sky and sea and now framed in a more contemporary frame this painting will brighten any room. Indistinct signature, bottom right.
