A beautiful, somewhat eerie, study of miners at a colliery on the Night Shift. Signed lower right and titled on the reverse. In very good, original condition with original frame. Labels on reverse to the original purchaser residing at 4 Cheyne Walk (home of William Morris, Daniel MacLise and George Eliot - among others), from the John Whibley Gallery, Cork St, London, this painting exhibited March 1972, Cat #8.
