A typical work by this Newcastle master displaying the 'New Watercolour palette', albeit slightly late. It does, however, show an undiminished ability and indeed he continued to successfully exhibit following the execution of this view in 1839, until just short of his death and in relative financial comfort.
His biography is one of the longest entries in 'The Artists of Northumbria'.
