A good view of the Tyne from the entrance, showing the High and Low Lights on the right and 'The Groyne' on the left. Thomas Madawaska, the sixth son of Henry F Hemy was born on the boat called 'The Madawaska' as the family were on their way to Australia. His siblings included Bernard Benedict as well as Charles Napier, also a renowned artist from the North East of England. After Charles Napier, Thomas is usually considered the most competent. Signed 'T M Hemy' bottom left.
