Fine Stanley Cursiter summer's day oil on board of his homeland, Orkney, and the view from Yesnaby across the sea to the silhouetted 1000ft cliffs of Hoy and the stack of the Old Man of Hoy. Lovely light, very atmospheric, with the sky heavy with cumulus clouds that look as they may sit above the islands for the day. Signed and dated, 1930, lower left.
