This is a smaller example of the very well-known work by Ralph Hedley 'His First Voyage', which is shown in the colour plates in Marshall Hall's difinitive book of 'The Artists of Northumbria'. Ralph Hedley was a 'local' artist to the North East of England but his paintings have a national and international significance and often make thousands of pounds at auction. In excellent condition and signed by the artist.
