One of the major names in Northern art Hedleys' subjects were wide ranging. The comfort of the warm fireside appeared often in his paintings as did this particular pussycat -as seen in the Laing Art gallery permanent collection. These two seem to like the rug at the top of the stairs which, just like my mutts, is a good spot to catch the heat drifting up.
