A woman walks across the flower-filled meadow bringing lunch to the labourers who are loading the cut hay onto a cart. A lovely painting which while at all not dark seems to be enhanced when lit by direct sunlight making the pigments shine. The fine, and very substantial frame bears the name George Dunlop Leslie and a title of Haymaking in the Sussex Weald' although it is by, and signed, 'P Leslie Lara' bottom left.
