This painting by Norman Cornish, presumed to be of his son, John, was the property of a journalist who came to Newcastle to write several articles about the artist. At that time Norman Cornish was exhibiting at the Stone Gallery. At the end of the exhibition, the journalist purchased this picture from Norman personally. It doesn't bear the Stone Gallery label though it is in the original frame from the 60's. NOTE: This drawing has now received a provenance letter from the Cornish family, in fact signed by John Cornish himself, confirming its authenticity - see image below.
