This view from just outside Villeneuve, looking along Lake Geneva to the Chablais Alps is one of the many excellent watercolours that Miles Birkett Foster painted on his journeys around Switzerland and other continental destinations. Although perhaps not quite as technically fine as the views he painted in Surrey later in life, this picture has the benefit of the original frame and the provenance of the Fine Art Society.
