Karel Frans Philippeau (1825 - 1897)
Dutch artist and pupil at the Academy of Amsterdam and Anvers. Born 31st August 1825 in Amsterdam, died 15th April 1897 at Prinsenhaag. Lived much of his life in Rome.
Specialised in joyful scenes of Italian families at a party out of doors. Painted in oil and somewhat less often in watercolour.
