John William Gilroy (1868-1944)
John William Gilroy was a landscape, marine, portrait and genre painter in oil and watercolour. Born in Newcastle, he was a self-taught artist. He has exhibited at the Bewick Club, Newcastle, the Royal Academy and exhibitions at the Laing Gallery.
