John Henry Mole (1814-1886)
The Dutiful Daughter
Medium: Watercolour
Size without frame: 7.0" x 11.0"
SOLD
A charming little John Henry Mole painting depicting a young girl on the way home having taken lunch to the harvest workers. Makes the hard work of harvesting by hand seem quite idyllic! (Memories of helping in just this way as children in the Yorkshire Dales, puts us well beyond the first flush of youth!). Despite being basically Northern, John Henry Mole often painted his scenes in the South of England.
