Super painting of the 1877 built paddle tug 'Selina' moored in front of another tug. The Selina belonged to the business Joseph Crossthwaite Tugs North Shields Ltd which traded on the Tyne from 1845 to 1943. The boat was named Selina after the owner's sister and was, at the time of painting, one of six tugs the company owned. A copy of an early and very similar photograph is attached at the rear of the painting. Signed, lower left.
