John Falconar Slater (1857-1937)
The Farmyard
Medium: Oil on canvas
Size without frame: 28.0" x 36.0"
SOLD
A large and well observed painting in the agricultural genre. The cows meandering back to the farm past a Gin Gang for the evening milking. This must have been a farm Slater knew well as it, or various parts, appear in many of his works. Stylistically it is an early example of his impressionism and would date to the 1890's.
