Seemingly the bigger the impressionist canvas the better it becomes. In our formative years we have handled 6 and even 8 foot sized canvases full of wonderful swirling impressionism. While not quite that size, this is a commanding and beautifuly executed painting of an unknown, but almost certainly, Northumbrian hamlet.
