Gardens and borders often figure in Slater's works both in oils and pastel. They are usualy identified to several properties but we have not seen this particular view with the old buildings before. Lovely fresh colours. Modern but handmade, bespoke 'swept' frame as shown.
This painting was acquired privately, the previous owner having acquired it by inheritance, and so it is completely fresh to the market.
