Excellent example of the work of John Falconar Slater. This is a substantial painting housed in a modern hand-made 'swept' frame. Original, unlined condition and purchased from a small sale in a foreign country, so completely fresh to the market. Almost certainly an early example before Slater became more impressionist and probably a view on the North Tyne.
