John Edwin Oldfield (circa 1790 to 1860)
Originally a North East artist and painter of architectural and topographic subjects in England and on the Continent, Oldfield later moved to London. He exhibited at the RA in 1826 & 1854. Examples of his paintings are in the British Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum and the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle.
