Superb Chartlon grisaille watercolour of excited horses having a sand bath in the British Army cavalry barracks, Egypt, (Sept.) 1898. What's not to like? Realism, fabulous energy, historical interest - even for those not keen on horses this skillfully painted watercolour has tremendous presence.
