John Brandon Smith (1848-1884)
John Brandon Smith was a London landscape painter who exhibited 1859-84 and at the Royal Academy (22 paintings 1860-74). Mainly known for pictures of rivers and especially waterfalls, many of 'waterfall Smith's' paintings were on the rivers Conway, Llugwy and Lledr in North Wales. He also painted rivers in England and Scotland. Sometimes muddled with James Burrell Smith the watercolourist, but only because of the similarity in name.
