Johannes Franciscus Hoppenbrouwers (1819-1866)
Johannes Franciscus Hoppenbrouwers was a Dutch artist who painted winter and summer landscapes in a romantic style. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, The Hague, and in the studio of the landscape painter Andreas Schelfhout. Hoppenbrouwers also studied law and later became a judge. His paintings can be found in: The Rijksmuseum and the Hague Municipal Museum, Amsterdam; Historical Museum and Boijmans-van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam; and the Met Museum, New York.
