Jean-Baptiste de Jonghe (1785-1844)
Jan - or Jean Baptiste de Jonghe was a rural landscape artist and engraver from Belgium. He was a pupil of Balthazar Paul Ommeganck(1755-1826)at the Academy of Antwerp and in 1812 won the Grand Landscape Prize at the League of Fine Arts in Ghent.
Jean de Jonghe travelled in France, Holland and England and exhibited in London, Paris & Brussels. Examples of his work are in the Amsterdam Museum.
