Jan Michael Ruyten (1813-1881)
The Belgian artist Jan M Ruyten painted in both watercolours and oils, painting mainly marine scenes, landscapes, townscapes - where his markets and harbour scenes show the bustling city life in and around Antwerp, frozen waterways and winter scenes. His paintings are in museum collections all over the world.
