A lovely painting of the old blacksmith's in the Teesdale village of Lartington, a couple of miles west of (the now infamous) Barnard castle. This bright summer's day scene is full of charming details and a faithful record of what prior to industrialization would have been central to every rural community - the smithy. Signed, lower left.
