A major example of Henzell's work, this painting of North East fisherfolk is in the original Victorian frame. Also signed verso 'Isaac Henzell-14 Day Terrace-Newcastle upon Tyne'. The canvas is dated 186(5)? so it would appear to have been executed at the time he returned to Newcastle from a 13 year stay in Australia and then London. He again returned to London in 1871. It is very likely that a work of this stature would have been an exhibited painting though further research is required to confirm this.
