A beautifully painted little 'conversation piece', clean and fresh having been preserved under glass. The original frame has some repairs but it is so nice and appropriate that it 'belongs' to the painting and a more modern moulding might not 'sit' so well! For some while Glindoni,( Glindon!), experimented with painting period costume pieces on porcelain and one can see that similarity of execution on this panel and why he was, perhaps, further drawn to refining his technique on an even finer surface.
Signed and dated 1889.
