A beautifully painted subject of high quality and better than some of his so called superiors. Housed in a very superior 'Fransden' swept frame and in perfect condition. We believe this is the work of the well-known Scottish artist Henry Garland. He painted under at least 5 or 6 recorded pseudonyms but this one wasn't known to us - quite often good artists painted for different agents or dealers, each under a different name.
