Detailed watercolour (bodycolour and pencil) of a mass in this grand church's Gothic interior by French artist Henri Schafer. The Church of St. Michael in Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, southern Spain, must have been a favourite as we know Schafer painted several views, including one in oils. Signed and inscribed, lower right.
