Another fine painting by one of our favourite artists. Inscribed verso 'Hackfall, Nr Ripon'. Probably the finest view in the area with the river Ure and Hackfall Wood, described as a "beautiful wilderness", (but much managed by man since it was bought in 1731 for 906 pounds).
