Harry Fidler (1856-1935)
Harry Fidler was a British painter best known for painting farm animals, especially horses using thick impasto . Born in Wiltshire, ninth of ten children, he worked on the family farm until his thirties when he studied at the Herkomer Art School, Bushey. Member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of British Artists, Fidler exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon. Today his works can be viewed at, among others, the Derby, Watford, Oldham, Newport Museums/Art galleries.
