Many of Woods' paintings were around Southhampton, particularly featuring Royal Navy vessels, but here he has chosen a more leisurely atmosphere of a liner and yachts going to and fro in the in the relative calm. Sold in the original gilt frame and mount and in quite acceptable condition nonetheless.
