A lovely impressionistic watercolour of the Doge's Palace from the Grand Canal with the side canal leading off to the Bridge of Sighs. We can't be certain but think that the crowds and boats may be celebrating the Festa di San Marco. Wasley's delicate colouring and reflections on the water seem to combine to give the canal an iridescent quality. Signed lower left and, while undated, we think it was possibly painted in 1917.
