The River Llugwy, North Wales

Size including frame: 26.7" x 36.7"

Lovely scene of a tranquil afternoon as a mother and son enjoy a picnic by a placid stretch of the River Llugwy. Jamieson paints the river and reflections in the water beautifully. Signed with a pseudonym G. Williams, lower right. Jamieson may well have been a much more competent artist than his somewhat 'pot-boiler' work under that name indicated. Certainly this landscape is of a quality more akin to William Henry Mander. With a good antique frame.
