This fine portrait was acquired in excellent but unrestored conditon, and has now been cleaned. It is unsigned as were most of the artist's portraits other than his finest works. However, having removed the grime of many years, we have decided that, to be cautious, this painting must now be described as ATTRIBUTED to the artist, with a price to match! Provenance: De-accessioned from an American museum - the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, St. Louis. Relevant labels on the back.
