Ferdinand Maröhn (also called Maronnio) was born in Germany, lived in France and painted mostly in a Dutch style. His biographical data are only partially known but he exhibited many times at the Berlin Academy and, from 1846 to 1859, in several Parisian Salons. Maröhn was a prolific artist whose works have been included in the collections of some French museums (Reims and Ajaccio).
