After spending time in Paris and Barbizon Pieters settled for a period in Blaircum, Netherlands, and there painted the people and houses of the small local farms. Pieters' impressionistic brushwork and impasto capture the sun's low light as a mother and daughter feed the cart horse. Signed lower right.
